We have a permanent opportunity located in Chicago for a Flex developer. My client is a professional consulting firm specializing in developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA or Web 2.0 using tools such as Flex, Ajax, and Lazlo) and Portal initiatives for Large Enterprise Systems of Fortune 500, FSI and Government Contracts.
In 2005, the management team bought out the business unit. They have NO DEBT and no outside financing. This is something they are very proud of and use in their sell to potential employees. Their profits grew 60% in 2006, 95% in 2007 and are on target for a 45% growth in 2008. They have little to no attrition. Again, another standard they hold very high. My client targets “brand name clients" and implement the latest and greatest in cutting edge technology (NO MAINTENANCE all new development). They consider themselves the "SWAT" Team of Open Frameworks.
My client invests in their people. They have a career development program which includes reviews. Every new employee has a mentor that helps develop a growth/career plan. Additionally, they train their employees in specific technologies and depending if they are on a long term project or short term assignment they suggest 3-5 day classes in order to remain cutting edge. Candidates should be enthusiastic about programming and expect to spend approximately 90% of their time doing hands-on code design and development. Candidates must have IT consulting experience, be team-oriented, possess effective written and verbal communication skills and be willing to travel (up to 80%).

Training is available on an as-needed basis to assist with project demands.

Required Experience
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• At least 5 years experience of enterprise web development participating in the complete product development lifecycle of several successful projects
• Must be well versed in ActionScript 3.0 and Flex libraries.
• Must demonstrate a strong programming basis in at least one other major language such as Java, C, C++, Perl, or previous versions of Actionscript.
• Must possess proven knowledge of Object oriented principles and design patterns.
• Must be knowledgeable about current RIA technologies, frameworks and tools.
• A strong knowledge of the following technologies is a plus:
• XML/XSLT
• HTML/XHTML
• W3C DOM methods and properties
• CSS, DHTML, JavaScript
